Highlights: PSP was the prime contractor overseeing four subcontractors to design and install a new active vehicle barrier system with associated controls and safety systems. PSP partnered closely with the Client and developed a work plan to meet the facility’s operational requirements, ensuring an active vehicle barrier system was operational at all times throughout the project.
Scope of work: The work consists of the installation of a complete GRAB-300 Active Vehicle Barrier system at a Department of Energy facility, inclusive of all safety and signaling devices, utility power upgrades, controls, and area lighting upgrades. Specific installation activities include demolition and excavation of existing active vehicle barrier equipment, reinforcing steel placement, placement of equipment within excavations, installation of a new transformer, installation of cables and hardware, field assembly of barrier components, and concrete placement.
