Service Technician - East Region

Perimeter Security Partners is looking for a motivated Field Electrician with strong electrical and mechanical experience to install distribution panels, disconnects, conduit, and wire, to terminate electrical and signal wire, and to test systems for new installations at access control points (ACPs) and associated equipment throughout the United States. While the primary purpose of this role is new installations (construction), the position also supports repair activities on existing access control point (ACP) equipment throughout the United States. The Field Electrician will provide electrical support for the installation and repair of ACP equipment, to include vehicle barriers and associated safety systems, portable message boards and generators light carts, site-built and pre-fabricated guard booths, and closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems at commercial, government and military sites. The ideal candidate will have experience with electrical systems, low voltage controls, variable frequency drives, electro-mechanical drive systems, and hydraulic drive systems, especially those related to vehicle barriers and ACP equipment. The Field Electrician will report to the General Superintendent.

Duties:

The Field Electrician must be able to work independently with little supervision, and to be a positive representative for Perimeter Security Partners with Clients.

Install, terminate, and test distribution panels, disconnects, conduit, wire, and other equipment for ACP systems.

Install, assess, troubleshoot, and repair ACP equipment and CCTV systems.

Coordinate closely with Site Superintendent, Project Managers, Client representatives and other personnel to safely conduct installations, maintenance and service actions while minimizing operational impacts.

Install and execute repairs on ACP equipment using checklists, drawings and specifications, manufacturer’s guidance, and technical expertise.

Provide daily reports on equipment condition, services performed, and additional work needed.

Develop material / equipment lists and labor estimates for new installations and to correct deficiencies.

Draft and organize electronic documentation following each installation or repair visit, including compiling receipts, reviewing completed checklists, obtaining Client approval signature(s), composing technician reports, and other close-out documents.

Operate in a safe manner and coordinate maintenance of a service vehicle.

Requirements, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Field Service Technician or Electrician on industrial systems, motors, and drives
  • Ability to read schematics and single-line drawings
  • Familiarity with high voltage circuits up to 480 VAC and low voltage controls (12-24 VDC)
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test to permit access to military installations and similar controlled areas
  • Desired: electrical certification / licensing
  • Desired: heavy equipment operator (forklift, lull, man lift)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds to waist level.

Additional Information:

  • Recurring travel for two (2) to three (3) weeks at a time on new installation / construction projects. Weekly travel to work sites throughout the United States, generally departing on Monday and returning Friday when conducting smaller-scoped repairs.
  • Employee will be given a company credit card for approved expenses (e.g. hotel, fuel, tools, and materials). A fixed per diem to cover meals and incidental expenses will also be provided
  • Hands-on and other training opportunities available to augment skills and increase proficiency with a wide variety of security equipment

Field Electrician - All Regions, U.S.

Perimeter Security Partners is looking for a motivated Field Technician with strong electrical and mechanical experience to maintain and repair access control points (ACPs) and associated equipment throughout the United States, primarily East of the Mississippi River. The Field Technician will conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on vehicle barriers and safety systems, portable message boards and generators light carts, and closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems at commercial, government and military sites. The ideal candidate will have experience with hydraulic drive systems, electro-mechanical drive systems, variable frequency drives, low voltage controls, programming logic controls (PLC), and electrical systems, especially those related to vehicle barriers and ACP equipment. Perimeter Security Partners has a robust maintenance and service team with seasoned lead technicians available for troubleshooting and support, with the goal of minimizing client system down time by providing quality technical support and customer service in a timely manner. The Field Technician will report to the Field Service Supervisor.

Service Project Manager

Description:
The Service Project Manager (PM) is responsible for overseeing and managing access control point (ACP) Maintenance and Service (M&S) contracts and task orders to ensure compliance with applicable requirements. The Service PM liaises with clients and others as needed to identify work and timing requirements, coordinating with subcontractors and / or PSP personnel to determine the most appropriate and cost-effective execution methods for contracted work. The Service PM coordinates with the Field Service Supervisor to adjust technician schedules, provide administrative and management support to field technicians, and disseminates information to necessary parties to maximize effective communication. The Service PM performs a variety of administrative functions to manage contracts, task orders and subcontracts, to include preparing reports, developing subcontract documents, and drafting proposals. The Service PM reports directly to the Senior Service PM.

Duties:

Perform recurring coordination with clients and service department technicians, keeping the Senior Service PM and others informed on work progress and support needed at each location.

Collect and organize electronic documentation following each repair or preventive maintenance visit, including compiling receipts, reviewing completed checklists, obtaining client approval signature(s), composing technician reports, and other close-out documents.

Develop service and maintenance proposals, to include gathering material and equipment quotes, formatting cost sheets, and writing the proposal.

Track the status of all awarded service requirements and plan execution to meet contractual requirements.

Conduct routine communication with vendors, subcontractors, and customers, including e-mail and telephonic contact.

Provide support to technicians in advance of repairs or preventive maintenance visits by coordinating site access, sourcing equipment, parts and consumable materials needed for the work, and preparing checklists and other documentation in advance of the trip.

Coordinate with PSP personnel to improve purchasing and material management processes across all business lines.

Perform telephonic dispatch duties for 24/7 emergency calls on a rotational basis.

Provide remote assistance and administrative support to technicians as needed.

When applicable, manage U.S. Army Corps of Engineers projects within their online Quality Control System:

  • Develop and process daily, weekly and monthly reports
  • Prepare transmittal forms for all submittals
  • Update schedule progress
  • Track Government approvals of all submittals and reports

Perform other administrative and management tasks as directed by the Senior Service PM.

Requirements, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • Associates’ degree in business administration, management, electronics, engineering technology, logistics, or a related field is required. A Bachelors’ degree is preferred.
  • 2 or more years of experience in a professional work environment is required.
  • 2 or more years of experience in an office management, executive assistant, or project administrator role is preferred.
  • 2 or more years of experience in industrial maintenance, MEP service, engineering, general contracting, logistics, or Federal Government contracting is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and other MS Office applications is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.

  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds to waist level.

Construction Estimator

Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, thorough, and organized Construction Estimator to support our growing team by developing bid opportunities and building detailed cost estimates in support of fixed price bids. The Construction Estimator will analyze the scopes of work for physical security construction and repair opportunities to develop travel, labor, equipment, tool, and material estimates in coordination with PSP executives and sales professionals as needed. The Construction Estimator will review solicitation documents including plans and specifications to develop material takeoffs and prepare detailed cost estimates. The successful candidate will excel at consolidating input from the Company’s experienced team of Superintendents, Project Managers, and Technicians to develop and document schedule and sequence of work assumptions and select appropriate key materials.

Duties:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for physical security construction and repair work based on performance work statements, drawings, specifications, and applicable standards
  • Develop an understanding of how physical security industry standards are applied through on-the-job training and attendance at formal training courses
  • Attend pre-bid site visits, conference with prospective clients, and inspect project sites to fully understand the Company’s scope of work and the impact of site-specific constraints on that work
  • Extract an accurate bill of materials from available design documents
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes
  • Develop draft project schedules to accurately determine the labor, travel, and equipment required to execute the scope of work
  • Document assumptions and maintain records to permit efficient analysis and review of estimates by others
  • Develop and maintain a cost catalog within Procore to streamline the estimating process
  • Identify potential errors, conflicts, and ambiguities in solicitation documents and prepare requests for information to clarify those items
  • Review cost estimates with PSP leadership to help develop proposals

Requirements, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Two to four years of experience preparing work plans, cost estimates, change order proposals, or similar estimating functions preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Field construction or construction project management experience is desired.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications is required while experience with Microsoft Project, Procore, and other construction management software is highly beneficial.
  • Familiarity with construction trade work, concrete management, vendor management, and/ or subcontractor management is desired.
  • Experience working with federal Government contracts is preferred.
