Highlights: PSP oversaw installation of ten M50 crash-rated active vehicle barriers (AVB) with associated controls and safety systems for two entry control points at Schriever Air Force Base. The PSP Project Management team worked closely with the AVB manufacturer and General Contractor to make design adjustments for unforeseen site conditions, ensuring Client expectations were met.
Scope of work: This project increases physical security measures at the two primary entry control points to Schriever Air Force Base, including the main gate and commercial vehicle inspection station. PSP developed the AVB installation plan and gate closure schedule to minimize operational impacts during the two month construction period. Work included installation of eight hydraulically-operated crash-rated drop arms and two hydraulically-operated wedge barriers with associated controls and safety components.
